Soil Testing

Know your soils with the USDA Web Soil Survey, an online mapping tool that provides basic information about soils on your property.

Soil Testing

Properly conducted soil sampling and testing is a cost-effective way to determine the types and amounts of fertilizer and/or lime needed to improve plant growth and yield.

There are three steps to complete a soil test:

  1. Obtain proper soil submittal form, with sampling instructions, and soil sample collection bag(s) of the Hardin County Extension Office
  2. Obtain soil sample
  3. Complete your submittal form and mail form, sample, along with payment, to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Soil, Water, and Forage Testing Laboratory in College Station.
